Healthy kids visit a summertime green market

I have been missing our weekly trips to the weekend Green Market in Delray Beach. This and other local markets usually start in October and last until May. Yesterday we took the kids to Ellenville Green Market in Boca Raton. It is a green market that happens every Thursday from 4-8. It was fabulous and fun! It did not have a ton of foods but it had a guy that sold mangoes that he picked from a tree in his yard. Do you know when  a mango is ready to eat? When you can smell it and it looks a golden orange/yellow color. Who knew!

One of the things that I really loved about this particular green market is that it had children's activities. They provided jump ropes and hula hoops for the kids to use and they had a live band that welcomed the kids to dance with the music.

The green market was also rich in baked goods, fresh salads, watermelon, pizza and pickles to sample, enjoy and of course, take home. The kids had a great time and I can't wait to return in future weeks. Have you enjoyed a local green market lately? If so where is it? Do share :)
