#2 Parents Are Role Models
Holidays are challenging enough to juggle schedule changes and family dynamics. Worrying about food can also be stressful. Being a role model, as a parent and eating proper portion sizes and limiting overindulging in food will set an example. If parents provide mostly healthy choices with limited desserts and excessive sweets, then everyone will feel better and nobody will feel deprived or left out. Children will eventually follow their parents lead.
