Dear 16 year old self,

Day 9 of Health Activist Writers Challenge is to write a letter to your 16 year old self. What would you tell yourself?

Dear self,
So here is the 4-1-1! Right now you are only worried about getting your drivers license, hanging out with your friends and being cool. You are an OK eater but do not like salads or milk or hot dogs. I don't blame you on the hot dogs and ham but you should really consider eating more greens. Greens are good for your growing body. If you don't want to drink cow milk I would highly encourage you to drink soy or almond milk so that you reap the benefits of the calcium. By the time you are in your thirties and after you have your 2 children, that you nurse for a combined 43 months, your body will definitely need the calcium. Also, sunscreen is a must. I know how you love to lay out on the beach but you must start wearing sunscreen because you will indeed develop some nasty sun spots way before you are considered old. Know that you are a strong and beautiful person and as you advance through college eating is an important part of being healthy. Keep yourself healthy and watch your best friend around your junior year in college she stops eating and withers down to 98 pounds. Read the signs ahead of time for anorexia and go with your instincts, because you are right.

Love,
Yourself

P.S. Pay attention to the cute guy named Kel in High School, he is the one you marry :)
