12 Days of Healthy Eating tips for the Holidays

On the 1st day of Christmas my
Registered Dietitian recommended to me...
An unrefined diet for the entire family!

Three months ago we started the adventure into Unrefined eating for our families. Then....the holidays hit. Now what do we do? Everywhere we look the traditional foods of the holidays are popping up. How can we stay committed to eating cleaner and healthier?

Over the next 11 days we will have an end of year wrap up and a blog delivered Christmas present for all readers. Just a few reminders and tips on how you can make your holidays healthy and fabulous!

Getting started on our Christmas gift from a Registered Dietitian to you, we will review the five rules of unrefined eating (these are the foods that are on the do not eat list):

1. If the food can only be made in a factory by a machine or was invented by a food scientist.

2. After reading the label you find that there are more than 5 ingredients on the label and most of the ingredients contain unpronounceable chemical and color names.

3. The food item has been on the shelf for many years and has still yet to expire per its expiration date.

4. If it is a recipe that can not be made in your kitchen.

5. If it comes from a place that has a drive through or takes less than 5 minutes to make at a restaurant.

Think about the foods that you traditionally eat during the holidays and see how you can change it up a bit this year. Your body will thank you!

Stay tuned for the next 11 days for more tips on how to keep your holidays happy and healthy!
